Well, you've wasted a countless hours doing pointless energy exercises ranging from sensing random things to making psi balls to making artificial intelligence, perhaps even sentience. And hopefully you are now ready to get to the appetizer of energy working and past the garnish.
Yes, that's right, I just said sentient constructs a garnish, and whatever comes afterwords as an appetizer. I'll explain this seemingly ludicrous statement latter on. However, I hope this is a warning flag letting you know that this article is not intended for beginning psions.
I'll say right now, this article will present many suggestions that you may find ridiculous, but you should realize that many things can be done that seem counter intuitive and sometimes impossible. Also, many explanations will be given. These are primarily opinions or suppositions and by no means definitive.
The farther along you get in metaphysics, the more strange and personal things seem to get. Some things work one way for one thing, and another for a second person. because of this, it makes much more sense for more advanced articles to be chiefly concerned with the outcome due to the impressively varied ways one could go about to achieve said goal.
However, in the next section, I will give a few fairly unknown methods of achieving something through energy manipulation. I will say right now I view ritual as extremely short sighted and stupid. As such any I recommend you steer clear of it. I mention this only because as one proceeds further down the path of energy manipulation, psionics and magic tend to be combined. And one common element of magic is ritual. Although, there are forms of magic that use no ritual.

Well, You've read this far so I'll assume you are fairly skilled and knowledgeable and willing to try new things. So we will discuss direct intent, omnimancy (AKA tech) and reality manipulation.
Direct Intent is just that, using only your will power and focus to do something and letting your sub concious mind fill in the gaps. This is similar to conceptualization except, you aren't programming. You don't use any energy and then force your desires upon it. You force energy upon your will in a sense. You think what you want and your subconcious gets the energy and does what you want with it. This makes direct intent good for filling in the gaps in a construct.
Omnimancy, also called tech, is put unprogrammed energy in various shapes and forms to cause them to do what you wish. A commonly known peice of tech that is not normally associated with it is that a spinning construct gathers energy. This takes no programming and your construct will gather energy very efficiently. As I'm sure you can imagine, tech requires a fair amount of knowledge, but when used properly, it is extremely efficient.
Reality manipulation is altering the way energy functions in a given area bring upon the desired results. Typical reality manipulations tend to be things like prevent a specific type of energy from existing or causing it to react in a different method than usual with other energies.

This gets you an energy that assimilates others and takes on some of their properties, but is highly unstable. If you intend to use it for anything other than a weapon, keep plenty of core on hand as that stabilizes it.
This obviously means you should try to use the best energy for the job. And when you lack one good enough, develop your own. Yes, you can design your own energies! Energies with whatever innate properties you are capable of giving it. As you can imagine, what you can make depends entirely on your skill and it takes considerable skill to make an energy of considerable power. This has obvious uses in combat, especially when combined with reality manipulation.
The next important thing to understand are portals. Lets say you have two portals, A and B. What goes in one comes out the other. Anyone who is mildly creative should see the immense use these have in everything from combat and defense to generators and various other constructs.
The last thing I'll mention on this topic is existence. Things, on an energetic level, can have varying degrees of existence. If, for example, I cause my self not to exist on an energetic level, my energetic body will not be effected by anything.
You can also have things exist in a different existence. For example, if I make my body exist in a different time than our own, it will be difficult to access it. but different, I don't mean in the normal sense of forwards or backwards in time, but sideways. In an entirely different series of events, a different time line.
I'll stop on that note. That should have been enough to get you thinking of all the possibilities you never considered. As I'm sure you are now aware of, there is much possible that can be done with energy manipulation that is not normally discussed or even thought about.

I just recently made a piece of tech that creates ripples in reality and sends out very strong waves of various energies. I'm waiting to see what effects it has. However, it cause mild headaches to those within it's radius of effect, and animals seem reluctant to walk into it. I'm hoping that it will eventually have some physical effects.
I have several of these scattered through my neighborhood, all with different goals. It looks like I will have to wait awhile to see what the full impact of their effects are on the area contained within them. It should be highly informative no matter what happens.
I have made things similar to the one above for mass energy gather and telepathic suggestion. The perfect way to conquer the world! (MWAHAHHAHAHAhahahHAHAhaha!!) It's purpose was to cause people to donate money at a fund rasier I was at. However, it could easily be used for more nefarious goals when placed in high traffic locations. (Such as political uprisings)

Think about it like this, What people normally call beginner and intermediate is really just various mental exercises. Not even the activities themselves. Thus, these should both be referred to as even less than that. One who just is learning to sense isn't a beginner psion as he hasn't begun psionics, the manipulation of psi.
Now, intermediate, this is much more subjective. I know some who say that I am not intermediate (which I tend to agree with at times) and some who say I am extremely advanced.
But really, it just depends on who you compare yourself to. A person who can just barely make a psi ball is vastly more advanced than someone who still can't sense. And someone who can make an AI construct is much more advanced than the one who makes psi balls. And the people that make true egregores, (God Constructs, but that's not important right now) not the type I can make, are vastly more advanced than I.
But really the point of this is to say that when talking about how advanced someone or something, don't compare it to the average person on the forums. Compare to the best person you know of.
A Ending and a Request
Yes, this article is almost over. But before you do anything else I want to make a request of you. I want you to experiment and see what you can do. Set a goal that seems to hard to complete, but just barely. Something that would hopefully have a useful end result, but if not, just something hard to attain. And do your best to complete it.
