Does Psi Exist?


Before you turn away saying I am a sceptic know that my conclusion is yes. What I am about to write is based on this movie ‘What the bleep do we know? Down the rabbit hole’ I would advise anyone practicing in pisonics to watch them they have been a great help to my own understanding of psi, also I would like to say thank you to seraph for mentioning them in the ‘impossibilities’ thread. They will open your eyes to just what psi is. Or at least what I think it is, I created this thread to find out what peoples ideas of what psi is, so any contradictions are welcome.

Anyway from what I know a few things are facts about psi, distance is not relative to psi unless you believe it is, and metal blocks are the only hindrance to it. So essentially anything is possible with the right mind set right? Now the main point from this video is the slot experiment (I believe its in part 4 but you-tube seems to be playing up at the moment) in which it was explained that matter formed a single band when fired through a single slot and two when done with two slot, waves on the other hand formed multiple bands due to interference when sent through two slots, but a single band when fired through a single slot.

However when the same experiment was performed with electrons they behave like a wave, which seemed impossible due to electrons being matter. When they actually observed the electron going through the slits it formed two bands rather than the interference pattern. Ok now the explanation of what happened is over, it seemed that when observed the electron behaved as ‘common sense’ would have predicted, but when unobserved it did not, so this shows that the electrons followed the will of the observers subconscious, which can be likened to a psion willing energy to form a psiball, but when left to its own devices it was everywhere yet nowhere and cancelled out itself in places.

Assuming this theory is utterly sound it would show why a sceptic who attempts psi to prove its non-existence is likely to not feel anything in their attempts. Also it shows that their must be some sort of connection between the electron and the ‘observer’ so seeing as all matter is formed from electrons (and atoms) then everything must be interconnected (and thus the ‘entanglement’ theory mentioned in the videos) which can go on to explain telepathy, empathy, and even aura viewing.

As for precognition another test was done where a random number generator created ones and zeros as left ear and right ear clicks, which where recorded onto two identical tapes. One was given to a person who was told to listen to one of the tapes and attempt to get it to make more left clicks than right, when the other tape was tested later on it produced more left clicks than right, this suggests that things in the future can affect the past as well as the other way round so if someone experiences something in the future they could be subconsciously sending what happened back in time to warn themselves about something, this could explain why its hard to induce a premonition.

More proof of this is that a scientist conducted experiment on peoples brains during surgery and found that it took longer for someone to feel stimulation to their little finger when the brain is directly stimulated, yet when their finger is stimulated they feel it instantly, which is not what you would expect unless the brain was sending the information back in time.

So the only way to induce a premonition is to send information to your past so you must tell yourself that you are going to send information back to yourself at a particular time and so you will have a premonition but only if you manage to do it in the future, so circles within circles. Also this shows that psiballs are not actually necessary to use psi, from doing this I have attempted to warm a room without first using psiballs and succeeded. I hope you find this information helpful although I may be wrong.

Hmm your theory on psi in interesting a wile back i had a theory that i had never sucessfully tested it involved psionics being effected by electromagnetic fields (still relating on the topic of electons) also just another theory to exist ive also heard theories of psi having to do with darkmatter so who knows???

Wow, that was a very interesting read.

Ive been experimneting with that exact same precognition theory.
Ive been looking over all my old precogs, and ive found alot (not all) involve something that i would like to avoid (For example, bumping into an old friend on the street, which i didnt really want to talk to because they just dont stop talking).

Although, ive also found that just a generally powerfull event can trigger sending a premonition back.

i know this is sorta taking the topic off the main subject but i just had to interject to see if anyone agrees with me. If anyone has read the dune series before they remember when leto (or paul i dont remember that well i think it was leto) states the fact that knowing the future traps you into it..... wouldent it be a boring life everytime you walked around a corner you knew everything that would happen it would be like walking around on auto pilot never doing anything that would actually be quote "your own" just doing stuff you learnt from the futute..........

As to precogs having to do with avoiding something... Hmmmm all mine have been too. Also, if I ride my bike with my eyes closed I can sense extremely well, to the point of avoiding cars, people, and going around corners.

I have always thought this is because you sub-c does not inhibit your ability to sense then for fear of pain or death.

As to psiworld, most of the people don't care about anything of important there because they have been learning to sense for about 6 months...

What the Bleep Do We Know- Wow, i actually saw that a couple months ago. Though I should see it again to make it really sink in.

Now, when I last saw it, the other people in my class weren't attempting to take it seriously. I'm not saying it's that bad that they didn't, it's their own loss. But I think this theory is very plausible, if not in the exact way it's stated then in a similar way. Some reasons that someone (or generations) may not believe or even understand the theory (at least, parts of it) could be:
- religion
- stubborn-ness
- facts that prove it false
- inability to fathom it
- some sort of destiny, possibly plans from the future or past
- simply having not known

Any number of these possibilities could be correct, but I don't know which. Maybe none. So, I'm just putting them out there for others to think about, discuss, or test.

yeah currently now is the good part its easy to keep down on the fluff just wait till psiworld colapses and we get 100 new members flooding the forums with useless information. Then it gets hard and i gotta either make tunz of mods or stay on for mutiple hours a day......... or i can just hope that the chat will distroy most of the fluff on the site "see i actually have the brains to understand what goes on on the chat and that were actually teaching people how to not create fluff"

Well, my theory is that when you have a precog it shows you one of multiple possibilities for the future, but you can chose which possibilities by your actions

Being a natural precog and all this is not it at all. I wish it were that simple.

A perfect example of some precogs is the time when I went down into the States, for the first time, to West Virginia. When I was driving somewhere I got visual and conceptual flashes of a very specific intersection, followed by 5 other points. I also got many other flashes of other possible situations leading away from when I got to the last place I saw in my precognition which was where we would stop to work. I saw all of those places exactly in the order I got them (which is rare) and later on I came to one of the situations I viewed after it.

Now at that place I had at least 20 precognitions of what would happen after that. Now even if I did try and choose one of them, (I ended up choosing the one which would be 'normal', meaning that I took the one which didn't seem unnatural to me at the time. Unfortunately knowing the other precogs, one of those could have actually been the more natural choice.) unless I knew exactly all the possible situations and results - which, as I remember it, Muad'Dib/Paul may have - I may choose one thinking I would get to the seen after event, but then choose something different which I thought was right. This thing which I thought was right may have been wrong and the actual right choice would be something I would never have thought of in that situation.

So unless we are all Muad'Dib's or have the ability to view all possibly futures at will, (or not), then precognitions will probably stay sometimes useful, annoying, unhelpful, and interesting.

yeah ive never had precog, but imm the unlucky one to get granted with anywhere from 17-20 deja vu's a day all of which i can remember dreaming about yet cant put my finger on it till its already happened its annoying and confusing
