Take a good look at humanity, and then compare it to any other species as a whole. We say that we are like the apes, but do the apes slaughter one another over what they think? We say we are superior because we can build things. Ants and termites build things even more impressive for their scale, and they do it without destroying the earth around themselves. We say we are great because we have created flying machines. Plenty of animals have been able to fly long before we have, and they do not need to destroy the earth and its atmosphere in order to do so. We say we are great because we are civilized. If torturing animals and slowly killing them for food is civilized, and mass-murdering our own species is civilized, I wouldn't want to see what we would call uncivilized. You decide for yourself. [Edit: Forgot to mention, this has some VERY graphic examples. It is worse than most people would care to know, but it is what goes on to bring you what you are used to living with.] (My viewpoint has been shortened quite a bit here, so as not to take up several pages. I might post more later on if I feel the need to do so.) |

The thing here is humanity is made up of 3 classes of people the people who think, the people who are ignorant, and the people who are just downright stupid..... (sorry to any of you out there.)
Anyways the largest class are the ignorant people theese are the people who just go with the flow and dont give a crap what happens they wake up in the morning get dressed go to work come home eat dinner watch tv and go to bed.....
the smallest group is the people who think theese are people like the leaders of greenpeace and other stuff that nobody really cares about because theres not enouph of them to have a drastic effect on the world......
Finally the medium class are the stupid people they sit around on their asses fail out of all classes never have put any effort forth and will acomplish nothing in their lives except supporting the fast food market flipping burgers.....
Finally the only chance humanity has at saving itself is armagetton when the largest class the people who are ignorant have a sudden realization that they might have a chance to do somhing segnificant in the world and make a difference, but the odds of that actually happening are about 1 in 100 so sorry guys but were screwed in the long run......

Hmm, codelyoko I must say that I agree with most of what you posted.
As to Brilenus, I agree with you. I didn't have time to watch the full video but I was able to watch some of it. It only confirms that we are a selfish, power-hungry race.
It's a shame really that we act this way, but I don't think that anyone can actually deny that fact. Hopefully it improves, before as codelyoko says an Armageddon will occur.

Even those are just another human category and I have seen only a rare few who would go all the way. Even out of those rare few who would consider other species needs and actually do something about it lots of them would not do or even consider other things which would be helpful in the same way.
I find it ironic how as we are discussing this none of us would actually do anything real about it, even those like me in my current state, would only say that they would if they could escape certain limitations whatever they may be.

I honestly see myself as an observer the only time i will act on any puncuality is A) If theres cash involved B) Armegetton (btw just a small factor i concitter armegetton to be when the astral and the physical planes converge.....) and trust me if armegetton comes rolling around your going to know who i am really fast...... (because i might just show up on your doorstep asking for help) or you might show up on my doorstep, but thats another story.....

Humans are the only species that is not judged by its collective group but by its individuals. For it is the individual who can follow and accept or remove themselves by way of action and word to rise above the collective ignorance and destruction created by the masses. To set yourself apart from the rest of our own species and actively work to better not only our own, but the quality of life of other species as well as the fragil planet we live on, is truely what gives us unique charactor in the animal kingdom.

I would have to agree there MappaM. It is incredibly sad how few of us rise above what the rest do however...
I still can only hope that I can rise above the struggling to improve that I am now and move on to trying to help others improve themselves.
